We worked with Stephanie on my dog Alice's severe anxiety towards fireworks, cats, and separation anxiety. Stephanie was easy to work with and communicated wonderfully the entire time. She gave us insights and tips to better understand our dog and her triggers for anxiety. In particular, I'm so proud of her for overcoming her fear of cats! We are able to walk by them on a walk without having a full panic attack which is huge. Alice also trusts us a lot more when it comes to managing her anxiety - she looks to us first when fireworks happen, knowing we are there to support her rather than running off and panicking. I was so lucky to find Stephanie - even though my dog Horatio was on in years (my 12yo beagle-poodle), the progress we made with behavioral training (mine, included!) was amazing. So many things I would never consider are now clear signs of an anxious dog that can be solved with reinforcement and practice. Walks, feeding time, and interactions with other dogs are night and day...! Many trainers overlook the fact that much of the training with dogs takes place first and foremost with - the owner! I was unaware that I had been contributing much to Horatio's anxiety. Her consult is sensitive, super-informative. She's clearly got a lot of experience. She initially advised a 5-session package given Horatio's age but we benefited from a few more. We had a great experience with Stephanie! Our 1.5year old mixed breed rescue was developing some protective behaviors at home and work that needed correcting. Stephanie was great. Clearly very professional. She quickly identified behaviors in me and my dog that I totally didn't realize was creating issues between us. It was getting very frustrating and unmanageable. With a bunch of tricks and changes in my own behavior I am able to have better walks and set better boundaries. I am happier and my dog is happier. She gave me great advice and I keep implementing them and my dog has become much easier to deal with inside and outside. He is listening more and I'm calmer.
