About

Originally from MD, I’ve been based in Brooklyn for over a decade. While studying Animal Behavior and working with difficult dogs (and their human families) is my #1 passion project, I’m also a self-taught daytrader, calligrapher, avid home-cook, and cyclist.

Living in east-coast cities my entire adult life, I’ve observed countless pet parents from all walks of life struggle to find balance with their dogs. It’s not easy. I understand the unique challenges of the urban environment and have focused on developing the tools to help you and your furry pal live the best life possible in NYC.

Looking back, it all started in 2014 when I was seriously bitten by a dog. I’d always loved animals and realized that I didn’t want to become fearful; instead I went fully into research-mode and became obsessed about learning the “why” behind the bite, and wanted to see if I could help the dog (and his owners, who were friends) to end his bite history. At that point I had little understanding of canine behavioral issues and it was like a whole world was opening up! I made plenty of mistakes but was encouraged as I saw how even small changes could have a positive impact. It was transformative.

Over the years my self-study led to becoming a shelter volunteer at ACC, a regular foster volunteer, working with friends, family, & neighbors to improve their dog problems…and eventually assisting local rescue orgs with dog rehabilitation. Having logged many hours as a hobby, I started to think about practicing professionally and enrolling in a behaviorist program was a natural next step. Let’s face it: life is more fun with dogs!
